Government of Uttar Pradesh have provided a UP NRI Portal for creating a forum for building effective and meaningful relations and to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian Community from Uttar Pradesh residing in Suriname & to reconnect them with their roots.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh have provided multiple schemes of UP NRI Portal for creating a forum.

1. Diaspora Connect:NRI Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh engages with its diaspora for growth and prosperity of the state. Regarding this initiative to create a forum for building effective and meaningful relations and to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian Community from Uttar Pradesh residing in Suriname, the state would like to request the Mission to provide the Database of HNIs/ Prominent Indians/ Migrants from Uttar Pradesh in Suriname and other nodal contacts or prominent Diaspora Associations.

2. Investment: NRI Department is looking to attract High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs) from Uttar Pradesh diaspora residing in Suriname and looking to invest in Uttar Pradesh. We request you to circulate the Investment Intent Form in the UP community in Suriname and display the form on the Embassy official Website/ Social media channels for a wider dissemination.

3. Policy Consultation:Government of Uttar Pradesh is in process of drafting a dedicated policy for Uttar Pradesh diaspora – NRIs/ OCIs/ PIOs. As part of the stakeholder consultation, the state is keen on eliciting responses to the Survey Questionnaire. We request you to circulate the Survey Form in the UP community in Suriname and display the form on the Embassy official Website/ Social media channels for a wider dissemination.

4. Trade:Government of Uttar Pradesh would like to request the Mission to provide assistance to promote products from Uttar Pradesh under ODOP (One District One Product) scheme to augment trade and investment between Uttar Pradesh and Suriname. To take this initiative forward, Mission can organize an event, arrange B2B meetings with importers of these products and display these items appropriately in the high footfall area of the chancery. In this regard, We propose to hold a Virtual Conference to discuss in further detail.

5. Employment:Government of Uttar Pradesh has a dedicated state agency – UPFC Overseas Manpower Recruitment Agency - for providing overseas employment to Uttar Pradesh workforce (Blue collared & Nursing Sector). In this Context, we request your support in obtaining the database of Registered Foreign employers in Suriname for seeking demand for employment opportunities for trained and certified manpower in different trade/ sectors from Uttar Pradesh.
