78th Independence Day Celebration
The 78th Independence Day of India was celebrated in Suriname with a flag-hoisting ceremony on 15 August, 2024 at the Chancery Premises. The ceremony was attended by a number of Indians, Diaspora members, and friends of India.
2 The Ambassador (Designate) Subhash P. Gupta, hoisted the tricolor, followed by National Anthem and reading out the address of the Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu to the Nation on the eve of the Independence Day by Ambassador (Designate).
3.To showcase India’s rich diversity and culture, the diaspora presented patriotic songs and recitation of poem in Hindi. A Kathak dance was also performed by students of Swamy Vivekanand Cultural Centre.
